Given that a number of you just came back from one of those field trips that Xavier's is famous for, but... well, to be honest, this was in the works before the dinosaurs. I - or to be more accurate, Elpis has been invited to Budapest this weekend for the service dedicating their memorial for the bombing victims there and at the other sites.

Not exactly the most celebratory of occasions, obviously, but I've spoken to the Professor and the headmasters and we've agreed that turning it into a bit of a field trip might be interesting. Hungary is probably one of the two most mutant-friendly nations on the face of the earth, and the ceremony itself is an hour on Sunday afternoon. That would give us most of that day, and all of the next, for sightseeing in Budapest. Minister Barath has invited us to dinner at his place on Sunday evening, as well.

Let me know within the next couple of days if you'd like to go - the offer's open to anyone. I just need to know a couple of days in advance to give numbers to the airline.

Mind if I tag along? I've been an admirer of the Minister for some time now, and for some odd reason people aren't exactly lining up to offer me chances to meet high government officials.

And I'd like to see the memorial.

There may be such a rule, but we'll wave it for you, I'm sure. Because everybody deserves a chance to experience the glory which is chaperoning.

You do realize that you just called this a field trip, yes? This is a very bold move, but I do believe that it is best to call things what they truly are rather than pretending that they are something else. Besides, perhaps the so-called "field trip curse" now only occurs during every other field trip.

I would like to attend the memorial dedication service and will, of course, attend the dinner as well. What are the exact dates of our visit?

I have long since paid my dues to the field trip curse. I no longer fear it.

We fly out Saturday and back on Tuesday.

I had already planned on returning to Attilan a day early for a long weekend - I have a meeting there I must attend on Friday. Would it be possible for me to meet you in Hungary?
