To let everyone know.
I'm sitting at the airport as I type this, and will be boarding a flight to Tel Aviv in about an hour. A member of the Elpis office over there has gone missing in Tajikistan... okay, let's call a spade a spade and say that one of my best friends has apparently gotten himself into trouble and needs to be found and dragged home to Israel where his wife can kick his ass. You'd think that having super-speed would allow one to run in the other direction from trouble, but David's always been contrary like that.
I had time before I left to leave a library assignment for my Russian class, and a few things for the reading groups. I left Angelo in charge of the boathouse. Someone make sure he doesn't work until midnight every night. Medusa, raincheck on lunch, I promise.
I'm hoping not to be gone for too long, but I'm also not coming back home until we find him.
And if anything blows up in the Pamirs... yes, that's probably me.

Heh. I was going to offer to make sure Angelo wasn't pulling the long work hours, but that'd be a bit hypocritical of me since I haven't made it home before midnight yet this week.
Take care and bring David home safe and sound.

It sounds like what has arisen is quite important, so we shall just reschedule lunch for when you return. I hope that your travels are safe and that you are able to find your friend easily and bring him home with a minimum amount of difficulty.

I only just saw this. Be safe, Nathan. I expect my Russian teacher to come back in one piece. I think it would be difficult to teach if one is in pieces.
