Something I suppose I should announce publicly, since I've had a few questions.
I won't be teaching next semester. I'll entertain ideas for independent studies, but I'm done holding classes. They've been disrupted too often, and I'm sure you'd all prefer to spend your time in classes where your teacher can be trusted to be there the majority of the time.
Sadly, this means the end of the 'how many classes will Mr. Dayspring miss due to medlab stays this month?' pool. I know you're all horribly disappointed.

On that note, I decided to take my independent study project a little... further than initially intended. I think you'll realize the obviousness of why.
Out of curiosity, were you being at all precognitive when you came up with this idea?

I was wondering, actually. I can understand why.
And no, I wasn't. At least not that I know of. Then again, my precognition has never worked in a predictable way and has just changed again completely, so it's entirely possible that I wouldn't be aware of it.

I'm so pouting. Why do the boys only get the cool things to play with?
This is me taking you off my "Classes I wish I could take but I don't have the time" list, Mister Dayspring. It loses some of it's affect, what with you not teaching anymore, but I so am. With black ink and everything.

Forge's independent study has taken on a life of its own. I suppose the best ones always do.
And that's actually interesting to know, Paige. That I was one the list at all, that is. I didn't think I taught the sort of thing you liked to study.

I'm so complaining to your wife. Moooooira! He's not playing fair!
(I can tease because I'm ignoring the part where you accidentally called my independent study projects not at par with Forge's.)
I love languages. English irritates me the most, really; everything else seems to have fascinating rules and structures. I managed to squeeze in Latin, and I'm trying to work on French in my spare time, but... not enough hours in the day, I suppose.

Please don't read things I didn't mean into what I say. I can assure you that I know nothing about your independent study projects and was not therefore thinking about them when I made that comment about Forge's.
Anyway. Have you thought of linguistics? Rather than studying individual languages. Might appeal to your interest in structure without being such a heavy demand on your time.

That's why I said it was an accident. Although, it's always nice to be sure; thank you.
Yes... but then I wouldn't be able to put "fluent in an obnoxiously high number of languages" on future resumés.

Could I perhaps get an hour or several of your time every week? I think that between you and Alison that I could actually make that development to my imaging power applicable and controllable on a regular basis.
But I have no idea where to even start, and I was hoping you might have some idea.

That classes as team-related training, Angie, which I am of course still doing.
So I suppose that's a yes.

Clarice? Nathan is not Superman. Superman does not have stubble or a big stick to hit people with. Also, he has a really silly looking cape. Superman is also dating a reporter who gets into a great deal of trouble.
Nathan, on the other hand, has no cape, stubble, and is married to a mad scientist Noble-prize nominated scientist who can get herself out of trouble just fine.

But Nathan! I went to all that trouble to dig through Doug's very scary comics boxes just for all that research...
You never let me have any fun.
