Notice the lack of the voice-to-text system message at the top of this entry? (By the way, Forge, thank you again; it really helped to be able to use the computer at least while I still couldn't see.) As those who've made it to Muir have found out, my eyesight is mostly back, if not entirely. My peripheral vision is pretty much not there, still, and my depth perception keeps playing tricks on me. But given how fast I went from totally blind to being able to read and get around without walking into walls, I'm optimistic. (Really, I am. Stop looking at me like that, all of you.)
The weather here on Muir is terrible, however, which is why I thought I should do this and the phone calls/emails I had in mind, while I still can. If the next storm that's rolling in is as bad as they're expecting, we may be cut off entirely again. Not that it would be such a bad thing - Moira and I were rather enjoying the isolation over Christmas - but then, we do have rather a large number of guests at the moment. The castle would be something of a madhouse if we all got snowed in.
And yes, I know, Clarice, you could shuttle people home, but I think you've probably done enough of that. You're supposed to be here to relax, remember?

Y'know, there's so much I could do with lack-of-peripheral-vision, especially with the kids here. But it's not nice to prank expectant fathers. :)

I love how this entry doesn't really tell me anything. I'm about to get on the second plane of several to fly over to that castle of your doctor's and the only thing you can tell me is "yeah, it's possible we might get snowed in, weather sucks, we have no way out, kay bye!"? What is wrong you with you?!
Glad to hear you're seeing better. I'm never drinking coffee again.

There is a break in the weather when you look outside, or at least it looks that way. Haroun, Miles and I are going to be daring and take advantage of it.
With luck, we'll have time to visit the village a bit before it goes bad again. Wish us luck! :D
