But, well, I had a number of people to catch up with and a whole shitload, pardon my language, of marking to do. I really should have taken some with me. In any case, it's good to be back. I'm glad the rest of you had a fairly quiet week; we were long overdue for one, I think. Hopefully the peace and quiet will continue so that those of us who missed it can enjoy the rare experience, too.

To my classes: I am all caught up on my marking, and you can all line up at my office door tomorrow during office hours to get your assignments back if you want. If you want me to hold onto them until after term, just in case the marks will depress you at this very critical time... well, I can do that, too. Your exams were written before I vanished for the week, so sadly, there won't be any delay at all on those.

Now. I'm going to go spend the rest of the night spoiling my fiancee rotten. There will probably be some waiting on her hand-and-foot involved. Also, probably ice cream. Sound like a plan? I think that sounds like a plan.
