Can you all walk very carefully around my wife please? Think good thoughts and don't do anything upsetting. I mean, I know Moira can look after herself and I'm not so worried about that, although if anyone upsets her I'll still do bad things and no one wants that.

But there's a problem. The problem is that the baby's telekinetic. Right now. Yes, right now. I watched her launch a bowl of ice cream halfway across the living room and she was snickering in the womb about it. Snickering. In the womb.

The baby is telekinetic and she already has a sense of humor. Oh God. Someone wake me up in eighteen years. I'm not ready for this. A telekinetic toddler. Oh God the baby-proofing required. I need a drink.

And a shotgun. Why don't I have a shotgun yet?

And telekinetic? Bloody hell, I'm going to have to work on my shielding spell, aren't I? See if it cancels out Junior's TK like it does yours. Could be a way of getting the baby off the ceiling...

(Not that the mental image of Doc MacTaggart being hauled around in midair by her stomach isn't, y'know, a little funny. But it'd be better if the kid learns to walk first, I think . . .)

I'm actually more reassured than I was - the Professor thinks her telekinesis is liable to be slow-developing. Apparently she's got a very sturdy little mind already, no signs that anything's going to get out of hand.

I'll be by later in the week to TK-proof the nursery, then. Everything that can get bolted down will, what can't will get removed or welded.

And thank god I don't have to keep using the gender-neutral pronouns anymore. Do you know how hard it's been to keep my mouth shut on that?

I, too, will volunteer to babysit. And I have practice now! With new babies as WELL as telekinetics. I'm sure 'float the pencil' can be adapted to feature 'float the pretty pink beanie-baby for Uncle Hank!' *g*
